I've used two of the duralite 20W solar panels on my small (25ft) sailboat for 4 years. I deploy them on the bimini top, and keep them there while sailing and at anchor. I stowe them below when I'm not on the boat. They have performed flawlessly, and have proved to be tough. In the lazarette, I store the two face to face, and often toss gear bags and such on top of them. I use a $50 charge controller from West Marine, gang the two panel output wires to this, and plug it into a cigarette lighter type plug in the cockpit of my boat. I'm going to buy two more, and I expect the array will power running lights, cabin lights, instruments (gps, autopilot, wind gauges and depth meter, as well as an Engel refrigerator box...we'll see. I live and sail in So. Calif., where it's nice and sunny a lot.

This panel worked great when new, but the encapsulation just isn\'t good enough to protect the delicate silicon wafers from damage. Better to hold out for a more durable panel. __________ Responce to Customer by Customer Service Manager: \"....From reading your email and (the review you left on the web site), I am suspecting that the slight ding on the panel that you mentioned may have damage a connection further down the panel which may result to 75% output. How much a \"slight\" ding could have effected a panel is unknown. We have sold over 500 of these panels in the past two years, and haven\'t had any issues...until this one. I could easily say that the record speaks for itself and this panel has been a very good RV & Marine solar panel alternative to a regid aluminum frame one..... Sincerly, George K.
