Lightning Arrestors

Lightning arrestors are recommended in any area prone to lightning. They not only protect your regulators and DC loads, but can be installed to protect your inverter as well. Inverters are vulnerable to lightning induced surges, and the repairs are not covered by manufacturers' warranties.

A lightning arrestor is insurance against damage. Locate arrestors at the PV array and/or the location where the array cable connects to circuit breaker or charge controller. In addition, lightning arrestors can be located in the main AC circuit panel to protect the system from lightning strikes entering through AC branch circuits.
